Introduction to Vickie Janson

Vickie Janson Pic
I was born in Dunedin, New Zealand and transferred to Australia in 1986 to take up the position of International Sales Executive for the Sheraton Hotel Corporation. My career includes 10 years as a Recruitment Consultant and I became an Australian Citizen in 2004 residing in Melbourne with my husband Michael.

Following a number of years working cross-culturally, I published my first book Ideological Jihad in 2009. This was written as an open letter to Waleed Aly in response to his book People Like Us; How arrogance is dividing Islam and the West. I have been a blogger and public speaker since.
My main focus as a public voice has been to defend core freedoms which include freedom of conscience, belief, speech and association. I am known as a human rights advocate for those suffering religious persecution and as a strong voice for community, family and children in particular.

My affiliations include the Family Council of Victoria, Life Coalition, Christian Federation, Australian Association of Pakistani Christians and I have been privileged to represent a range of ethnically and culturally diverse communities. I also support small business as a member of The Business Marketplace Community.

Appointed as the first Victorian State Director for the political party Australian Christians, I led 48 candidates to the 2014 State election and was the lead Senate candidate for Australian Christians in Victoria in the 2016 Federal election. While unsuccessful in gaining a seat, the 2016 Senate vote was doubled reflecting unprecedented support for, and recognition of, the values that have enabled western civilization to flourish.
